Rumour has it that Chrysler has dropped it's $3 billion V6 project codenamed "Phoenix".

This adds fuel to the fire of a possible merger between Chrysler and GM or perhaps Renaul/Nissan. Both of these potential partners have V6 engines that are vastly superior to anything Chrysler has, and why would they develop a new one if they knew their future partner alerady had a great one?
